At ZimmVet, we proudly provide compassionate veterinary care for avian and exotic pets throughout the greater Zimmerman area. Our experienced team understands the unique medical, nutritional, and husbandry needs of exotic companion animals and is dedicated to helping them live healthy, happy lives.
Our Exotic Pet Services
We offer a wide range of services tailored specifically to exotic pets, including:

- Sick pet exams
- End of life visits

- Diagnostic testing including bloodwork, urinalysis, parasitology, cytology, X-rays, and more
- Surgical procedures
- Dental care
- Pharmacy services
- Medical grooming including nail trims, beak trims, wing trims, and more
Exotic Pets We Care For
Our team currently provides care for many exotic species, including:
- Birds
- Ferrets
- Rabbits
- Guinea pigs
- Chinchillas
- Pocket pets such as gerbils, hamsters, rats, mice, and sugar gliders
- Reptiles, including bearded dragons, iguanas, chameleons, geckos, monitors, and more

Pets We Are Unable to See
At this time, we do not provide care for:
- Pigs
- Fish
- Venomous amphibians
- Venomous snakes or reptiles
- Raptors
- Some larger exotic species
*We provide care for certain exotic species when legally permitted in Minnesota and properly registered or licensed. Proof of registration may be required.
Injured Wildlife or Raptors
ZimmVet is not currently licensed to provide rehabilitation or long-term treatment for wildlife, and some species are protected by law.
